祷告来的面包牛奶
Bread and Milk from Prayer

不仅盘子空了，孤儿院里所有的食物柜也都空了。然而，院长乔治穆勒却没有慌了手脚。他继续带领三百个孩子和工作同仁，一起为当日上帝将要供应的饮食感谢祷告。祷告结束时，传来一阵敲门巨响。原来是面包师傅带来一整条面包，是早晨上帝激动他为孤儿们烘烤的。乔治谢谢他送上这份礼物，便关上了门。不久又传来另一阵敲门声，这次是个送牛奶的男人。他的货车正好在孤儿院前抛锚，由于必须在修理之前先清空货品，于是他想知道孤儿们是否需要牛奶。

「乔治穆勒」这个名字已经成为信心的同义词。他记录了上千个祷告的回应，都与他在英国的孤儿工作有关，这个事工最终帮助了上万个孩子。然而，在满足孤儿的身体需求之外，乔治的目标在于挑战基督徒的信心。他渴望藉著自己的工作，证明信靠上帝的供应并非徒然，上帝的话是可靠的。

Not only were the plates empty but so were all the cupboards in the orphanage. However, this did not faze the director, George Mueller. He proceeded to lead the 300 children and staff members in a prayer of thanksgiving to God for the food that He would provide for them that day. When they finished praying, there was a loud knock at the door. It was a baker with a load of bread that God had prompted him to bake for the orphans early that morning. George thanked him for this gift and closed the door. Moments later there was another knock. This time it was a man who delivered milk. His truck had broken down right in front of the orphanage. He needed to empty his truck before he could make the necessary repairs to it and wondered if the orphans could use the milk.

The name George Mueller has become synonymous with faith. He recorded thousands of answers to prayer in connection with his orphan work in England, which eventually cared for more than 10,000 children. However, more than meeting the physical needs of orphans, his goal was to challenge the faith of Christians. He desired to prove through his work that it was not a vain thing to trust God for provisions and that God could be taken at His word.
